The North Charleston United Methodist Learning Center serves both lunches and afternoon snacks that are nutritious and "child friendly". Snacks are prepared in a licensed and approved on site kitchen facility. When lunch is provided, it is prepared by a chef that has graduated from culinary school and is using the freshest and most nutritious ingredients possible. Parents are asked to indicate upon enrollment if there are any food restrictions and or food allergies that apply to their children. In that case, parents send in home-made lunches. Refrigeration is provided if needed. The center complies with all local health ordinances, inspections and state recommended guidelines regarding children's nutrition.
(Breakfast is provided for children that arrive before 8:00 am. The breakfast program is entirely run off the donations of our generous parents. We ask parents to provide various nutritious cereal options. When the breakfast cart begins to run low be parents are asked to provide more breakfast items.
(Please note that we are a nut free facility and we ask that no items containing nuts are brought into school.)
